     Alexander was born on 4 September 1885. He was listed as Hugh McCOLL's son in the 1891 census at 42D Back St in Renton, Dunbartonshire.¹

     Dugald was born in Baravulin, Ardchattan, Argyllshire, on 6 June 1860.^1,2 He was listed as Dugald McCOLL's son in the 1861 census in Baravulin, Ardchattan, Argyllshire.³
Dugald died on 24 December 1878 in Argyllshire at age 18.⁴ He was buried at the Achnaba Churchyard.⁴

     Dugald was born in Ardchattan, Argyllshire, on 6 May 1811.¹ He was baptised on 7 May 1811.¹ Dugald and Cathrine SINCLAIR had marriage banns published in Renfrewshire on 14 December 1845. Banns were also published on the 21 Dec, but it is not clear that this is for the right couple - the location look wrong.²
He married Cathrine SINCLAIR in Connel, Ardchattan, Argyllshire, in 1846.³ He was listed as head of household in the 1851 census in Baravulin, Ardchattan, Argyllshire,⁴ working as a crofter of 3 acres.⁵ He was listed as head of household in the 1861 census in Baravulin, Ardchattan, Argyllshire,⁶ working as a farmer of 18 acres, living in a house having 3 rooms with windows.⁷
Dugald died on 22 November 1879 at a cart on the road near Nth Connel in Ardchattan, Argyllshire, at age 68.^8,9 He was buried at the Achnaba Churchyard.⁸

     Duncan was born in Baravulin, Ardchattan, Argyllshire, on 15 November 1848.^1,2 He was listed as Dugald McCOLL's son in the 1851 census in Baravulin, Ardchattan, Argyllshire.³ He was listed as Dugald McCOLL's son in the 1861 census in Baravulin, Ardchattan, Argyllshire.⁴
He married Isabella McCOLL at The Manse in Christchurch on 6 April 1875.^5,6 He was buried on 17 January 1889 at the Addington Cemetery in Christchurch.⁷

     Duncan was born in New Zealand in 1881.^1,2 He served in WWI in the Rifle Brigade of the 1st NZEF (#51857), H Co reinforcements, embarking on 12 June 1917.
He is known to have visited the Ferguson family in Glasgow at sometime during or just after the war.³
Duncan died on 10 November 1938 at 15 Exeter St in Christchurch, Canterbury.^1,4 He had been visited in the late 1930's by Alexander FERGUSON (1st cousin, once removed) at Exeter St where he was living virtually as a rag-and-bone man; his mind was wandering. His death was probably suicide by gassing himself. The Public Trustee made little attempt to uncover his Scottish cousins until prompted by Alexander, who discovered letters home to Scotland in his abandoned house after his death. Another family branch (possibly the Fosters of Wanganui) were attempting to claim all of his limited estate until then.⁵ He was buried on 12 November 1938 at the Bromley Cemetery in Christchurch.^6,7

     Duncan was born at 72 Back St in Renton, Dunbartonshire, on 20 July 1891.¹

He married Marion DAVIES in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, on 5 June 1880.⁵ He was listed as head of household in the 1891 census at 42D Back St in Renton, Dunbartonshire,⁶ working as a dye-works foreman.⁶
