     Cecil Robert STEVENS MD, FRCS was born on 14 March 1867 in Arrah, Bengal.2 He was christened on 24 April 1867 at Arrah, Bengal.2 He became Professor of Anatomy at Calcutta University College.1
He married Katherine DUFF at St Mary Abbots in Kensington, London, Middlesex, on 13 October 1892. He rose to be Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Medical Service (A Force, No. 8A Gen. Hospital) and served in the Chitral (1895) and Tirah (1897-8) campaigns.3
Cecil Robert STEVENS MD, FRCS died on 18 November 1919 at Lyncourt in Paignton at age 52.4 He was buried at the Paignton Cemetery in Paignton.5

     Charles Cecil STEVENS KCSI was born on 5 July 1840 in Tahiti.1,2 He went to school in England at the Birmingham & Edgbaston Proprietory School, but moved to Australia and matriculated at the new University of Melbourne in February 1856 (the 17th person to matriculate in the colony of Victoria), was awarded a Mathematics Exhibition and went back to UK where he took his degree at London University with honours in Classics and Mathematics in 1860. Then in 1860 he sat and passed the open competition for the Indian Civil Service, taking third place. He had a distinguished career in India over the next 39 years, in many posts including Chief Secretary to the Bengal Government, and finally Lieut-Governor of Bengal in 1897-8. Retired 1898, and was knighted (appointed Knight Commander of the Most Exalted Order of the Star of India in 1905).1 He received a degree in May 1860 at London, Middlesex.3 He was listed in the 1861 census at 17 Lloyd Sq, St Sepulchre in London, Middlesex,4 giving his occupation as "BA, selected for I.C. Service"!4 He received a degree in August 1861 at England being awarded 8th place in the Civil Service of India examinations.5
He married Mary Anne Caroline TURNER in Calcutta, Bengal, on 16 December 1862.6,7 Charles was awarded the Knight Commander of the Star of India (KCSI) in Jan 1895.8 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census at 32 Harcourt Tce in Kensington, London, Middlesex,9 as a retired civil servant.9
Charles Cecil STEVENS KCSI died on 27 March 1909 at 32 Harcourt Tce in Kensington, London, Middlesex, at age 68.10

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in successfully commanding and leading his squadron in a raid on enemy trenches. The task was thoroughly carried out and every one of the enemy accounted for.1 He was 2nd Lt.in the 2nd Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment (unattached) with rank from 6 Sept 1911 in the Indian Army List for 1912; and later lived in the Isle of Wight up to 1963.1

     Charles was born in Walsall, Staffordshire, in October 1810.1,2
He married Deborah Hannah BLOMFIELD at the Registry Office in Denton, District of Loddon & Clavering, Norfolk, on 21 November 1837.1,3,4,5 He was ordained on 27 November 1837 at Bristol.1 They sailed under the auspices of the London Missionary Society, leaving 11 April 1838, arriving in Sydney September 10 and at Tahiti March 12, 1839. Due to ill-health, at the close of 1840 they left the islands and proceeded via America to England, where they arrived June 23 1841, when Charles left the LMS.6 He was listed as boarding at Mary COCKER's house in the 1861 census at 19 Chesterhouse St (lodgings) in St Sepulchre, London, Middlesex,2 working as a general merchant.2
