John Carter was born in Brisbane, Queensland, on 31 March 1859.1,2
He married Kate Robinson, daughter of William Alfred Robinson and Ellen Baker, in Queensland on 1 January 1880.3,4
He was widowed at age 21 on the death of his wife Kate on 31 January 1881.5,6
John's second marriage was to Mary Amelia Dickinson on 7 August 1889 in Queensland.7,8
John died on 3 April 1936 in Queensland at age 77.9 He was buried on 4 April 1936 at the Balmoral/Bulimba Cemetery, 441 Wynnum Rd in Morningside.10
