She was listed in the 1841 census in Briston, Norfolk, with her husband George; he was an agricultural labourer. Their children James, William and Sarah were listed with them.3

She was listed in the 1851 census as Head of Family at Hall St in Briston, Norfolk; she was listed as a pauper (agricultural labourer). Her children James, William, Sarah, Mary and Harriet were listed as living with her, as was her mother Eliza. Strictly speaking Eliza was Head of Household (and also a pauper), but the census-taker listed her relationship to Head of Family as 'widow'!4

She was listed in the 1861 census as Head of Family at Tyth Barn Rd in Briston, Norfolk; she was a handwoman and now claimed to be a widow, though her husband was still living. Her children William, Sarah and Mary were listed as living with her.5

She was listed in the 1871 census as Head of Family at St Augustine St, Nichols Yard in Norwich, Norfolk; she was a charwoman and still claimed to be a widow. Her daughter Mary was listed as living with her.6
She was listed in the household of her married daughter Mary in the 1881 Census at 20 New Begins Yard in Norwich, Norfolk, and was working as a charwoman.

Harriet died between July 1885 and September 1885 in Norwich, Norfolk.7

Jean Dalziel was born in Cadder, Lanarkshire, in 1841. She was the daughter of Andrew DALZIEL and Margaret JARVIE, was possibly a twin sister of Agnes.1 She was baptised on 3 October 1841 at Cadder, Lanarkshire.1

Jean left Greenock for Dunedin on the ship 'Philip Laing' on 23 November 1847. Her family group consisted of her father Andrew DALZIEL (43) [ag. sawyer; Chain Hills; d. 28/5/1885]; her mother Margaret née JARVEY (42) [d. 23/9/1877] and siblings Elizabeth (11) [m Gilbert BUCHANAN, also from the 'Philip Laing'; d.6/1/1872]; Agnes (probably a twin) (6) [d. 6/4/1927]; and Robert (3) [d. 21/6/1925].2

She married Thomas Moodie, son of John Moody and Amelia Christie, at Knox Church in Dunedin, Otago, on 4 September 1863.3,4,5

She was widowed on the death of her husband Thomas on 1 August 1867.6

Jean died on 9 July 1920 in New Zealand.7
