Jessie Gertrude Winzar was born in Poplar, London, Middlesex, on 17 August 1868.1,2
Jessie's marriage to Charles Burton Haggis, son of Alfred Henry Haggis and Sarah Ann Biggs, was registered between July 1888 and September 1888 in Croydon, Surrey.3
She was listed in the 1891 census at 6 Kempshott Rd in Streatham, London, Middlesex, with her husband Charles; he was a sawmill proprietor. Their child Gertrude was listed as living with them.4
She was listed in the 1901 census at 63 Mitcham Lane in Streatham, London, Middlesex, with her husband Charles; he was a sawmill proprietor. Their children Gertrude, Kathleen, Elsie and Kenneth were listed as living with them.5
She was listed in the 1911 census at 2 Riggindale Rd in Streatham, London, Middlesex, with her husband Charles; he was a sawmill proprietor. Their children Gertrude, Kathleen, Elsie and Eileen were listed as living with them.6
She was widowed at age 51 on the death of her husband Charles on 4 December 1919.7,8

She married Joshua Spencer, son of Thomas Spencer and Catherine Harrison, in Funtington, Sussex, on 18 May 1858.1,2
She was listed in the 1861 census in Knossington, Leicestershire, with her husband Joshua; he was a farmer of 180 acres, employing four labourers and a boy, with two house servants. Their children Marion and Harrison were listed as living with them.3

George Denis Wise1

George Denis Wise was born in Dunedin, Otago, on 12 May 1904.1,2
He was educated at Otago Boys High School, for whom he played rugby in the 1st XV (1920-21) before joining the Pirates club in Dunedin. He was a swift winger, standing 5' 10" and first played for Otago as a 19-year old in 1923. He had six games that year and another four in 1924.
He was chosen for the All Blacks 1925 tour of Australia, where he was an effective try scorer, topping the statistics with a total of 5 tries over the 7 games. There was a preliminary match against Wellington and a game on return against Wellington-Manawatu-Horowhenua as well as five games in Australia but no tests were played.
After the Australian tour he made another two appearances for Otago before transferring to North Otago (Kurow club) where he played two matches for that union in 1928.2
He married Alexa Oreti Stuart, daughter of George Stuart and Elsie Isabella Cumming, in New Zealand in 1929.3
George died on 1 September 1971 in Dunedin, Otago, at age 67.4 He was cremated at the Dunedin Crematorium, Anderson's Bay on 3 September 1971, and ashes scatered 6 Sep.4
