Subsequent events became even more bizarre when their mother and friends were accused of kidnapping the 4 oldest children and forcibly removng them to California (from NY Times files). Thomas was listed as head of the family on the 1910 Census at 208 Wesley Ave in Ocean City, Cape May, New Jersey,³ with an occupation of 'none.³'

     William BROWN was born circa 1876.
