She married James Nelson Neal in Akron, Summit Co, Ohio, on 13 July 1929. Both of them were workers at the Firestone rubber works and both claimed to be 22 (i.e. born 1907) rather than admit they were actually only 19.1

She was listed in the 1930 US census as head of the family at 99 Tract G-5, W Mildred Ave in Akron, Summit Co, Ohio; the head of family was his brother-in-law Neil GILLIS (greenhouse gardener), married to his sister Rosa and also present were his parents John and Catherine, his brother Frank (12), plus Neil and Rosa's 3 children. James and Rosa were both clerks, but the 1931 Akron City directory indicates they had moved to Nth Portage Path and he was then a chauffeur.2

She was listed in the 1940 US census as Head of Household at 3B Nth Portage Path in Akron, Summit Co, Ohio; he gave an occupation of 'hired hand' with a $1600 annual income.3

Noma died in 1962 in Broward Co, Florida.4 She was buried in 1962 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens North in Pompano Beach.4

Ken was a botanist, co-founder (with his wife June) of Stone Lane Arboretum, Chagford, and co-author with Hugh McAlister of the book The Genus Betula: A Taxonomic Revision of Birches.

Kenneth died on 20 July 2010 in Devon at age 83.1 He was buried in July 2010 at the Holy Trinity Churchyard in Drewsteignton.1

He married Betty Muirhead Gaunt, daughter of Lancelot Gerald Gaunt and Anita Isabelle Fergusson, at St Boniface Church in Germiston, Johannesburg, Transvaal, on 13 December 1924. He gave his occupation as 'school teacher', and they were both residents of Transvaal.1

He returned to Cape Town from Southampton, leaving on 1 July 1927 on the Carnarvon Castle.4

In 1937 Betty petitioned Richard Brian Ashburner for divorce in Transvaal, possibly on the grounds of desertion.5

Richard died in 1961 in Pietermaritzburg, Natal.6

She arrived in New York on 24 Sep 1838, having sailed from Liverpool on the Elisha Dennison (359 tons), and was travelling alone.3

She married Thomas Moodie, son of Thomas Mudie and Mary Gordon Nicoll, in West Union, Ohio, on 6 November 1838. After the marriage they moved briefly to Cincinnati before settling in Columbus, Ohio in 1840.4

She was listed in the 1850 US census in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio, with her husband Thomas; he gave his occupation as 'banker' and their house was valued at $7000. Their children Euphemia, Mary, Jeannie, Thomas, Frances and Margaret were listed as living with them, as were two servants and Jane's parents Thomas Ashwell and Euphemia Abernethy.1

She was listed in the 1860 US census in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio, with her husband Thomas; his occupation and the value of the house were not recorded, but a male clerk and female servant were living with the family, as were Isabella Moodie and Gordon Moodie (Thomas's niece and nephew respectively). Their children Euphemia, Jeannie, Frances and Florence were listed as living with them.5

She was widowed at age 48 on the death of her husband Thomas on 1 July 1864.2

She was listed in the 1870 US census in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio; the house had a value of only $600, implying the family were no longer living in the original Moodie house The household included her niece Isabella Moodie but no servants were listed. Her children Jeannie and Florence were listed as living with her.6

Jane died on 15 September 1890 in Ohio at age 74.2 She was buried at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus.2
