He married Jane Isa McInnes, daughter of Charles McInnes and Margaret McColl, at Salvation Army Citadel, Main St in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, on 22 December 1904. He was a journeyman house painter, she a tea-room waitress at the time of their marriage.2

Joseph died on 6 July 1921 at 253 Duke St in Dennistoun, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, at age 43 of mitral and aortic incompetence. The informant was his wife Jane.3

Thomas Chute Ellis1

Thomas Chute Ellis was born in Port Gawler, South Australia, on 28 December 1848.2

During his youth he resided at Buckland Park, on the old Port Gawler station, at that time the property of his father. He was educated at St. Peter's Collegiate School, Adelaide, and finished his education at the Charterhouse and Henley Royal Grammar Schools, in London.
In 1869 he returned to Australia and took charge of his father's estates in South Australia and New Zealand, making Benara Station his headquarters and home.
In Aug 1883 he presented the Mount Gambler Town Council with a clock for the Town Hall tower, then in course of erection.
During his 51 years' residence at Benara he bred up a high-class flock of Corriedale sheep, the largest in Australasia.
He was married three times, first to Miss M. V. Barrow, Portland, sister of Mrs. A. P. Laurie; second to Miss Agnes Williams, daughter of the late Mr. T. Williams, of Moorak; and third to Miss Florence R. Ayton, of Tasmania. By his second marriage he had three sons - Messrs. Thomas Chute, William N. Chute, and John Chute, and by his last marriage a son, Mr. Harold Chute, and a daughter, Miss E. C. Ellis.
His third son (Dr. J. C. Ellis) was killed while serving as a Lieutenant in the Royal Field Artillery in Belgium, in June 1917.3

Thomas's third marriage was to Florence Rose Ayton, daughter of William Pooley Ayton and Susan Ann Connor, on 29 March 1893 in Tasmania.4

Thomas died on 21 December 1920 in Mt Gambier, South Australia, at age 71.5,6

Elizabeth Emberson was born in Great Waltham, Essex, on 7 December 1782.2

She married Samuel Forsaith, son of Samuel Forsaith and Sarah Andrews, at St Faiths, Old Change in London, Middlesex, on 4 October 1810.2,1,3,4 She was the plaintiff in a law suit at the Old Bailey in London, Middlesex, on 16 February 1814. On 21 Jan one Elizabeth Bannister allegedly stole 15 yds of ribbon, value 6 shillings from the Forsaith haberdashery at 52 Norton Falgate. She was judged guilty of stealing, to the value of 10 pence, confined to Newgate for 1 month, and fined 1 shilling.5

She was widowed at age 49 on the death of her husband Samuel on 11 July 1832.2,6,1
She was listed as a member of Robert Forsaith's household in the 1841 census at 10 Curtain Rd, Tower Hamlets in St Leonards Shoreditch, Middlesex.7

Elizabeth died on 16 December 1844 at 10 Curtain Rd in Shoreditch, London, Middlesex, at age 62 of pnuemonia.2,6,1,8 She was buried on 20 December 1844 at the Bunhill Fields Dissenter's Cemetery.6,9,10,11
