She was listed in the 1901 census at 28 Westmoreland Place in Shoreditch, London, Middlesex, in the household of her parents, Abraham George Edward Snow and Martha Nelson, where she was a blousemaker. Her name was recorded here as Ellen, not Nellie.6
She was listed as the niece of Henry Goff in the 1911 Census at 34 Carisbrooke Rd in Walthamstow, Essex, where she was a sewing machinist for a children's outfitter.7
She married Frank Hooper Sargent at St Barnabas, Hornsey Road in Islington, London, Middlesex, on 10 July 1915. Frank gave his occupation as a Sick berth steward, Royal Navy.8,9
She was listed in the 1939 Register at 109 Boundary St in Tottenham, Middlesex, with Frank Hooper Sargent; he was a medical dispenser, ex mercantile mariner.5
She was widowed at age 70 on the death of her husband Frank on 11 November 1957.10,11
She was appointed executrix of Frank Hooper Sargent's estate in London, Middlesex, on 20 February 1958, it being valued at £2015/15.12
