George Henry Olives Hitchman was born in Warwick, Warwickshire, on 29 December 1866.2,3

He married Elizabeth Susan Snow, daughter of Abraham George Snow and Mary Ann Lindsey, at St Thomas in Bethnal Green, London, Middlesex, on 30 May 1887. He was a blacksmith.1

He was listed in the 1921 census as Head of Family at A4 Bathurst Buildings in Shoreditch, London, Middlesex, with his wife Elizabeth; he was a blacksmith for Chalkley & Sons, Wheelwrights. Their children Eleanora, Edward, Ernest and Florence were listed as living with them.4

He was listed in the 1939 Register at 4a Georges Square, Old St in Hackney, London, Middlesex, with Elizabeth Susan Snow; he was a retired wheelwright and blacksmith and there were three members of the PETERS family living with them.3

He was widowed on the death of his wife Elizabeth between January 1941 and March 1941.5

George's death was registered between January 1951 and March 1951 in Shoreditch, London, Middlesex.6
