Willoughby Legay HAWKINS

(c 1841 - 1893)
Willoughby Legay HAWKINS was born in Chilcompton, Somerset, circa 1841.1,2
He was listed in the 1851 census at 17 Banington Cres in Lambeth, London, Surrey, in the house of his parents William and Sarah with four sisters and four brothers.2

Willoughby's marriage to Fanny WIGGINS was registered between April 1860 and June 1860 in Clifton, Gloucestershire.3

He was listed in the 1861 census as Head of Family at Romnilly Cres in Llandaff, Glamorganshire, with his wife Fanny; he was an accountant in a merchant's office and the household included their newborn son Willoughby R A HAWKINS.4

He was listed in the 1881 census as Head of Family at 39 Charles St in Cardiff, Glamorganshire, with his wife Fanny; he was secretary to the Chamber of Commerce. Their child Constance was listed as living with them, as were their three sons (Willoughby, Ralph, William) and a servant. Note that he is listed as 'William N HAWKINS' - presumably a census-taker's error.1

Willoughby, as the father of the bride, attended Constance Evelyne Legay HAWKINS and Ernest Stuart FERGUSSON's wedding at St Margaret's Church in Roath, Glamorganshire, on 1 October 1888.5,6,7
He was listed in the 1891 census at The Grand Hotel in St Martin, London, Middlesex, where he gave his occupation as Secretary to the Cardiff Chamber of Commerce.8

Willoughby died on 5 January 1893 in Cardiff, Glamorganshire.9,10

His will was probated in Llandaff, Glamorganshire, on 6 May 1893 with Fanny WIGGINS appointed executrix of effects valued at £1031/18/11.10
